Trinity United Methodist church

In 2018, Trinity United Methodist Church in Conway, South Carolina was devastated by Hurricane Florence, which caused severe flooding throughout the region. The rebuilding of the church was a complex and challenging construction project, but it was necessary to ensure that the church could continue to serve the spiritual needs of the community. The project involved a complete renovation of the church’s interior, including the installation of new flooring, electrical and plumbing systems, and HVAC equipment. The construction teams took special precautions to prevent future flooding, including the installation of flood-proof doors, the raising of electrical outlets, and the use of water-resistant materials throughout the building. In addition, a flood wall was constructed around the educational building, and the flooded crawl space was replaced with a slab-on-grade foundation in the sanctuary building. Beyond that, the entire Chapel building was raised, and the floor and ceiling were raised in the Fellowship Hall. The rebuilding of Trinity United Methodist Church required close coordination between the church community and the construction teams. Both groups worked together to ensure that the project was completed on time and within budget. The result is a beautiful and functional church that is better equipped to withstand future flooding and serve the needs of the community. The rebuilding of Trinity United Methodist Church is a testament to the resilience and determination of the church community in the face of natural disasters.
